The Alliance's 2015 global conference is being organised by the global office of the International Co-operative Alliance in collaboration with The National Cooperative Union of Turkey.

About the Alliance

The International Co-operative Alliance is a non-profit international association established in 1895 to advance the co-operative social enterprise model. The Alliance is the apex organisation for co-operatives worldwide, representing 268 co-operative federations and organisations across 93 countries (figures of May 2014). The Host

The National Cooperative Union of Turkey (NCUT) is our host. NCUT is the apex organisation for the co-operative movement in Turkey. In 2011, it represented 1,464,306 individual members and had 15 member societies. The Alliance also has three other federation members in Turkey who are affiliated to NCUT:

• Central Union Of The Agricultural Credit Cooperatives Of Turkiye
• The Forestry Co-operatives Central Union of Turkey (ORKOOP)
• Turkish Co-operative Association
• Union of Sugar Beet Growers' Production Co-operative (Pankobirlik)

Other Alliance Structures

There are a number of other structures of the Alliance who will organise their own meetings during the week, including the Alliance's sectoral organisations, thematic committees & networks, and regional offices.
